(i) to mark a new chapter, especially now that I’ve finally settled down into Uni life, and also,

(ii) to give a breathe of fresh air to my output.

Like people starting a new, empty diary after they’ve finished their old one, I thought that this is an appropriate time to make the flip. I want people to see the difference in the depth and quality of the content that I publish. Basically, I want this site to be more professionally perceived than my Blogger site.

As a move towards getting the quality up to scratch, I am planning to publish new posts weekly. Specifically, on a Friday. I found that my previous blog’s inconsistent publishing frequency was not helpful to anyone, so I’m going to change that.

Now, I’m expecting questions about what I’m going to blog about. In my previous blog, there was tech opinions, music playlists/charts, and occasionally, a few dribs and drabs on the things going on in my life. Here, though, I’m still quite unsure about what direction I want to take with my blog. I mean, you can get tech news and opinions from the likes of Ars Technica or Engadget. And in terms of music, I’ve often relied on the BBC Radio1 Playlist, Official Radio Charts and Billboard. And in terms of personal rants, there’s Facebook.

This leaves me with a dilemma – Do I keep on doing what I did, and nobody will read my blog?

I realised that in the past, I had a “quantity, not quality” focus when it comes to blogging. I can churn out 200 posts in a year, but that doesn’t mean the 200 posts have any value, and anyone would read those 200 posts.

For now, I’ll try to carry on with what I did topic-wise, albeit with a stricter release schedule. As such, you might see a few posts / an extended post with multiple topics in one every Friday.

With this post, I hope I’ve established why (a) I’m moving to a new blog on WordPress, and (b) what I’ll be doing in the medium-term.
